January 9th 2020 - Golf Course Irrigation Update
In the coming days, the golf course irrigation system will be going through an extensive repair process by replacing all current existing T-Joint couplings with a new Ductile Iron fitting that is designed to eliminate T-joint failures. In light of the issues experienced last year, every option and type of fitting was investigated and reviewed by Troon and a third party outside contractor to make a final determination on the best method and coupling installation process to resolve the piping and irrigation joint issues.
Golf Irrigation Services is the contractor that will be executing the repair work and will be on site starting Monday, January 13, 2020. Craig Sullivan, Golf Course Superintendent, and I will recieve daily updates on the progress that is being made. Based on the timeline for the project, we will have this repair work fully completed prior to the scheduled opening date.
I want to thank you for your understanding of the amount of time, research and investigation that took place to have a complete understanding of every option that was availble to address the irrigation break issues. We believe it was time well spent to recommend and execute a plan that will yeild the Ocean Edge golf course with the best results for today and years to come.
Looking forward to a wonderful 2020 season ahead!
